Critical Comments

Cotton

(Qld, NSW, WA only)

Mites

(Tetranychus spp.)

(Mite Flare Suppression)

0.5 L

Apply in stage II to reduce the rate of mite build-up associated with the use of synthetic pyrethroids. Where cotton Bollworm and Native Budworm are present, tank mix with the recommended rate of a synthetic pyrethroid.

Mites

(Tetranychus spp.),

Cotton Aphids

(Aphis gossypii)

1 L

Timing is important.  For best results apply when pest levels have reached commercial thresholds, or at first signs of aphid infestation, as indicated by frequent field scouting. Resistance to organophosphates can be widespread in some field populations of mites and has been documented in some populations  of cotton aphid.  If mite and cotton aphid activity continues

following an application of SICOPROFEN 50 EC, rotate to a different chemical group.

Cotton Bolworm

(Helicoverpa armigera),

Native Budworm

(Helicoverpa punctigera)

(Ovicidal Control)

1.5 L

Timing is important.  For best results apply at or just prior to the anticipated time of hatching of Helicoverpa eggs as indicated by egg levels or scouting.

Cotton Bollworm

(Helicoverpa  armigera),

Native Budworm

(Helicoverpa punctigera)

 1.5 to 2 L

For best results apply when pest levels have reached commer- cial thresholds, as indicated by frequent field scouting.  As ear- ly larval stages are easier to control, applications should target hatching and very small larvae.  These applications will also suppress mites and control susceptible populations of cotton aphids.  Use the higher do sage when heavier pressure and larger larvae are present.  A repeat  applicatoin may be re- quired if Helicoverpa activity continues.

Comparison;
Comparison
TC Technical material Material to make other formulations, has high effective content, usually can not use directly, need to add adjuvants so can be dissolved with water, like emulsifying agent, wetting agent, security agent, diffusing agent, co-solvent, Synergistic agent, stabilizing agent.
TK Technical concentrate Material to make other formulations, has lower effective content compared with TC.
DP Dustable powder Generally used for dusting, not easy to be diluted by water, with larger particle size compared with WP.
WP Wettable powder Usually dilute with water, can not used for dusting, with smaller particle size compared with DP, better not use in rainy day.
EC Emulsifiable concentrate Usually dilute with water, can used for dusting, soaking seed and mixing with seed, with high permeability and good dispersity.
SC Aqueous suspension concentrate Generally can use directly, with advantages of both WP and EC.
SP Water soluble powder Usually dilute with water, better not use in rainy day.
