Properties:
Colorless thick liquid, aromatic odor. Soluble in acetone, benzene, chloroform, ethanol, ethylacetate. Blue to purple liquid; pH 5.3 (1% solution in 50.50 dioxane: 0.1 M NaCl )specific gravity 1.127
Action:
Selective preplant incorporated and preemergence herbicide,
Uses & Crops: For annual grasses, broadleaf weeds in cabbage, citrus, coffee, green peas, maize, onion, orchards, soybeans, sugar beets, sunflower, vineyards.
Toxicity:
Form (Rat): Oral LD50>1700mg/kg,
Tech: (Rat): Oral LD50 2148mg/kg
Inhalation LC50>3mg/l(4h). (Rabbit): Eye irritation substantial but temperary; Skin irritation slight. Positive in Guinea pig sensitization study.
Protective Clothing:
Coveralls over short-sleeved shirt and short pants, waterproof gloves, chemical-resistant footwear plus socks, protective eyewear, chemical-resistant headgear for overhead exposure, and chemical-resistant apron when cleaning equipment, mixing, or loading.
