How Chlorfenapyr Works
Chlorfenapyr has a unique mode of action because in its product form it is not a pesticide. Chlorfenapyr affects insect on contact or through ingestion. After Chlorfenapyr contacts or enters a pest's body it is converted by enzymes to an active pesticide which then kills the pest. The activated Chlorfenapyr uncouples oxidative phosphorylation by disrupting the pest's mitochondria. Insects then are no longer able to create their own energy and die. Chlorfenapyr is non repellent allowing insects to carry it back to the colony or nest better controlling active pest infestations.
Chlorfenapyr Active Ingredient
Chlorfenapyr is a member of a new class of chemicals, pyrroles. The compound is a pro-insecticide meaning the biological activity depends on its activation to another chemical. There is little risk to humans, fish, birds, or mammals from Chlorfenapyr.

Chlorfenapyr is active against many pest species including mites, ants, termites, cockroaches, bed bugs, centipedes, earwigs, silverfish, spiders, wasps, and bees.
