Product Name: Phoxim
CAS:14816-18-3
Properties:Red brown liquid
Usage:Insecticide
Packing:200kg plastic drum
Properties: Red brown liquid, melting point 6.1, vapor pressure 2.1mpa at 20, readily soluble in n-hexane, dichloromethane, 2-propanol, toluene.
Use: Control stored product insects in granaries, soils, mills, vessels, port facilities etc, controls soil-inhabiting pests in a range of crops, including cotton, banana, grain, maize, nut, potato and tobacco.
ENVIRONMENTAL FATE: Animals Rapidly metabolised in mice to diethylphosphoric acid and desethyl phoxim. There is also unusually rapid metabolism of the oxon, and the nitrile group is also metabolised to phoxim carboxylic acid. Elimination is very quick; almost 97% is excreted within 24 hours in the urine and faeces. Plants In cotton, photochemical degradation and metabolism involve isomerisation to O,O-diethyl S-α-cyanobenzylideneaminothiophosphonoate and tetraethyl diphosphate. Soil/Environment In soil, photochemical isomerisation occurs to diethoxyphosphorylthioiminophenylacetonitrile. Tetraethyl diphosphate and tetraethyl phosphorodithioate are further metabolites. Degradation in soil is very rapid.
